Jon Scheyer has signed a contract extension to stay as head coach of Duke by the 2030-31 season. The brand new deal provides two seasons on his contract that was beforehand by the 2028-29 season. Scheyer beforehand signed a contract extension in 2023.
“Jon’s exceptional influence over his first three seasons has positioned Duke Basketball for sustained excellence, and we’re proud to make sure his management nicely into the longer term,” Duke vice chairman, Nina King, mentioned in a press release. “He has delivered championships and nationwide prominence, and he continues to guide a program constructed on character, connection and a relentless pursuit of greatness. Jon’s imaginative and prescient for Duke Basketball aligns completely with our highest aspirations, and we could not be extra excited for the way forward for this program underneath his management.”
Scheyer has landed the No. 1-ranked class in three of Scheyer’s 4 recruiting cycles, ending No. 2 again in 2023.Â
Scheyer had been this system’s affiliate head coach for 4 seasons and an assistant coach for 4 seasons earlier than taking on for Mike Krzyzewski.
