After shedding the Tremendous Bowl to the Eagles, the Chiefs will transfer on from again QB Carson Wentz. He’s a free agent heading into 2025. On Thursday, NFL insiders introduced Kansas Metropolis has signed a brand new QB2 behind Patrick Mahomes. 

Gardner Minshew has signed a one-year contract with the Chiefs. Forward of the 2024 season, Minshew signed a two-year, $25 million contract with the Raiders. He was launched by Las Vegas after one season. He’ll play for his fifth group in seven seasons when he fits up for Kansas Metropolis.

Within the 2019 NFL draft, the Jaguars used a Sixth-round decide to draft QB Gardner Minshew out of Washington State. Minshew spent the primary two years of his profession with Jacksonville. He performed in 23 video games for the Jaguars and made 20 begins. After two seasons in Jacksonville, they traded him to the Eagles forward of the 2021 season. Minshew performed two seasons in Philly and performed in 9 video games.

Forward of the 2023 season, Minsehw signed a one-year take care of the Colts. He was the backup to start the season to rookie QB Anthony Richardson. When he went down with a season-ending shoulder damage, Minshew began the ultimate 13 video games and went 7-6. After his spectacular season with the Colts, Minshew signed a two-year, $25 million take care of the Raiders.

The 28-year-old began 9 video games for the Raiders in 2024 earlier than he suffered a damaged collarbone. Kansas Metropolis wanted a backup QB for the 2025 season and so they’ve signed Minshew to a one-year deal. It will likely be his fifth group in seven seasons. Minshew has performed in 59 profession video games and has 46 begins. He’ll be the backup to Patrick Mahomes.
